I'm not looking to be inflammatory either. I have my concerns and opinions and here I am sharing them with whoever wants to hear them. My aim is to reduce or eliminate confusion and decrease people being frustrated with mismatches that lead to uninstalls. People who bought the the ECE of UT2004 got ...

Versioning makes life easier for admins that have choices between the official version and an update official version and an update to the update of the official version. There's been too many DB-Cube.ut2, SmallCube, etc files released and short of opening it in unrealed in hope there is a version #...

They can all use updates - AND - they need to have new names to distinguish it as an update/2.4 version.

how did you do that? I made a staticmesh in myLevel of a hollow cylinder with an inner diameter that matched the goal size and and outer diameter 32 units more. Height was a mere 1 unit - this may be where I need to do something.. thicken it maybe. Next, place the trigger on the map and set it up a...

Impossible! That would be like saying that collision doesn't work right all the time!
At least the changes had my brother laughing his ass off.. and that's what I was really shooting for.

Bump for an updated version. Decided to have a little fun with the post sounds and instead of a bunch of triggers, I used a single static mesh as the trigger. Might be a better way to do goalposts. Unfortunately, like Twig's DB-Blueridge, I use a pool of random sounds and sometimes the trigger fails...

For a good, tough, 1 on 1 match, Max and I just play the geeball variants I've been editing and geeball2. Smaller goal that makes it a challenge even if you have the keeper beat by a mile. Also, Max had his ego stroked big time today. We were duking it out as usual in Geeball and were joined by some...

Nothing stopping a server op from naming it too, just the preferred way is to have the author choose it. The old 1on1 map has been on the redirect for a long time. Some people prefer it over the new one that is different and yet has the same name. I'll just host it and call it DB-1on1_v2.ut2 so peop...

I've never been cool with holding altfire and running around. IMHO, if you are going to hold that and gain the ability to bounce/deflect a radius bigger than your body, you should give up a little speed/jump height to do so. Otherwise, being on D means toggle altfire=true. That's the difference betw...

I've talked to plenty of the irc-dwellers and the majority of them have come out and said they don't like pubbing anymore. I'd love to see them change their minds, but they simply don't like the company of new people. Hence the passworded servers too..

Where are these new players going to come from? Many shiny things were seen at E3. In light of that, UT2004, while becoming an attractive bargain lately, isn't going to be on anyone's holiday shopping list.

What are we doing to attract the remaining players?
