^^ What he said. The hats aren't from the patch though. For windows clients/servers, the patch is very nice. If it broke Deathball, I would have warned people a few days ago. Linux servers/clients as usual are SOL for a little longer..

Sure. It's easy. If you're going to run a dedicated Deathball server, set it up to run just like your client is setup; with a deathball folder in UT2004's root folder. Deathball is a full mod. To play it, your client is normally started with a commandline such as this: C:\UT2004\System\UT2004.exe -m...

Are you able to play Deathball in botmatch mode (single player)?

Sounds like you're trying to connect to a server that is running Deathball 2.4 beta. What server was it?

I actually liked 2.4 and the direction it was going. Shame we didn't have a way to keep the project moving while there was some spark left among contributors.

Re: I Know....

not much but nevertheless...: save 4gb on your (SUPERDUPER) hard drives and install ut2003 and 1.9b. switch the servers to ut2003 and my fucking god deathball is alive! (well may take a tinsy time). when word gets around im sure players will come back, besides 1.9b > 2.x (ut2003 > ut2004!) reasons ...

Sure it's going to slow down. I was fired up and eager to make some headway with contributing some coding in the current 2.4 beta but noone could be bothered to share the code. A few weeks go by.. enthusiasm fades and all you can do is walk away.

Best thing to do is know your admins, keep in touch with 'em and tell them when someone is futzing the server.
Not sure who is still out there for the Euro admins.. the servers I've got have been too much of a handfull lately. Finally got em all running again at least.
