DB-ToonBall & DB-TinyToon

Well thought i'd do a novelty deathball map involving cell shadings type of stuff. You know most games are using it now :p

Yes it's another cube rip-off...

but the features so far include :-

i) A 'boing' noise when the ball hits the crossbar or post.
ii) The screen cracks when the ball hits it.
iii) Messages show up in the chat box when you hit the screen, crossbar or post.
iv)a big speach bubble covers the goal when a goal is scored saying 'GOAL'

this maps kinda cool=) id imagine that its got the necessary gameplay plus it looks kick ass aswell=) adds fun to the game in a way that was really needed

Hey hey hey, that is one of the maps i wanna see :-) It has really much potential, and i know how it is if you got an idea and you search for more additional ideas to make the map much more interesting, so here my suggestions:

Already used this technique, too, and can really make you mad :-P

In addition to that, why not adding "Event Bubbles" to the field. Instead of showing the crack notice in the chat box, i think it would be cooler to use the thingis i show in the attachment (even for post and bar hits). It is easy to create those and brings a cool cartoon effect, i think.

Go on, this map is a great idea \o/ and i think it has a nice FPS =)

Will think of other ideas....

Two short solutions i think:

A trigger which is activated by the ball in front of the screen causing

i) Triggered Texture to appear
ii) Moving sheet covered with the shadered "cracked" texture moving infront of the screen

am i right ??? ;)

I gather you used a mover for the cracked screen?

A Triggered Texture via a material switch doesn't work online. I was hoping you found a way to change textures without movers. That was the reason for my question.
